How to change your screen saver in windows 7 and windows vista

Something I am often asked that I take for granted is how do you change your screen saver. The process to change the screen saver is simple and quick and we will show you how to do this in this short tutorial. If you prefer a video based tutorial scroll to the end of the article.

We start by using the mouse button to right click anywhere on the desktop and then select personalize from the menu that comes up.

On the next screen we want to go to the bottom right of the new window to the bit that says screen saver (this is where you will change your screen saver)

A new window will pop up called Screen Saver settings. Lets walk through this page.

Settings – allows you to change setting associated with the screen saver you choose. This can be for example the speed of text or fades etc.

Preview – Does exactly what it says and allows you to preview to screen saver

Wait: – This is the number of minutes inactive the system waits before activating the screen saver

On resume – If you are security conscious and password protect your computer this forces the system to go back to the login screen when the computer becomes active again (e.g. Press of the mouse)

We have also added a video tutorial below if you find that easier
